The dog comes first.

RILLWAG creates technical dog outerwear and outdoor gear for everyday life outside. We begin with the dog: how they move, what keeps them comfortable, and what gives them the freedom to explore.

A walk is full of things we might miss. A scent in the grass, a change in the wind, a familiar path that feels different after the rain. We want our gear to leave room for that curiosity.

That means looking closely at how a coat sits, where it might pull and how easily it adjusts. Our choices about protection, fit and visibility are guided by the dog wearing the garment, and by their enjoyment of the walk.

Shaped by Edinburgh.

In Edinburgh, a walk rarely belongs to just one kind of landscape.

You can leave a wet city street, cross a park, move onto open ground and find yourself on a hill before the weather has decided what it wants to do.

Rain can arrive quickly. Pavements turn slick, grass stays wet and wind picks up. Through the UK autumn and winter, the walk home can happen in very different light from the walk out.

That is why RILLWAG is designed for more than the city and more than the trail. We create gear for the space between them: pavements, parks, hills, woodland paths and everyday walks that move through several environments at once.

Visibility matters in those conditions too. We wanted it to be part of the garment itself rather than relying on a few small reflective details. A larger reflective surface is far more noticeable when headlights, torches or other direct light catch it as daylight fades.

Shaped with local dogs.

RILLWAG would not have developed in the same way without the support of the local dog community around Edinburgh.

From the early stages of development, local dog owners gave us their time, brought their dogs to fittings and photography sessions, and shared honest feedback with us.

Different breeds, coats and body shapes helped us understand how the garment moved in real life, where adjustment mattered and where the design could be improved.

We are genuinely grateful for the warmth, encouragement and support we have received from local dog owners.

RILLWAG has been shaped not only in Edinburgh, but with the help of the dogs and people who walk here every day.

Move as one.

Move as One is our way of describing the relationship at the centre of RILLWAG.

Not moving identically, but moving together, through different weather, different terrain and different rhythms.

The dog should be free to explore naturally. The person moves beside them. Good gear simply removes a few of the things that might otherwise interrupt the walk.

More freedom to move. More confidence to stay outside. More time side by side.
